Four regions in one plant
AK-47 is a hybrid of Colombian, Mexican, Thai and Afghani stock. The three sativa landraces give it height and airy branch spacing; the Afghani shortens the bloom and adds resin. The result is a 65% sativa that behaves more like a balanced hybrid in the garden.
Buds form in compact, sugar-coated clusters with orange hairs, sometimes with a reddish tint near harvest.
The smell
AK-47 smells sour, earthy and skunky, with a sweet floral edge as the buds ripen. It is pungent enough to need a carbon filter indoors, and outdoors it can be noticed from some distance in the last weeks.

How to grow AK-47
As a feminized photoperiod, it vegetates under 18 hours of light and flowers after the switch to 12/12. It stretches more than an indica after the flip, so switch a little early, or top it and train the branches outward.
With 7 to 9 weeks of bloom it is one of the quicker sativa-dominant strains to finish, which makes it a sensible outdoor choice in a shorter season if it gets full sun. The label gives about 500 g per plant outdoors.
It tolerates small feeding and watering mistakes well, which is why so many people pick it for an early grow.

Why does AK-47 flower faster than other sativas?
The Afghani in its background shortens the bloom. The label gives 7 to 9 weeks, which is short for a 65% sativa.
Is AK-47 good outdoors in Canada?
It is one of the better sativa-dominant choices because it finishes relatively early. Give it full sun and a spot sheltered from fall rain.
