AK-47 Strain
Ever wanted to try your hands with AK-47 strain? No not the famous Russian weapon, the even more famous cannabis strain AK-47. Originally developed by Serious Seeds in 1992, and loved by many for delivering its powerful high ever since. AK-47 is a an award winning hybrid strain. It has also been used by many great breeders to develop other popular strains in today’s marketplace.
AK-47 thrives best in indoor grow space over outdoor ones. It flowers fairly quickly and delivers tremendous yields. Average flowering time is 7 to 8 weeks. The Seed Pharm would consider AK to be on moderate side of growing difficulties, so it is a good strain for most people to try. It’s known for its big buds and its sweet and pungent aroma.
AK-47 Ideal Climate
AK-47 likes a mild and dry climate, and grown indoors allows you to regulate the humidity. Ideal temperatures are between 20 degrees to 26 degrees Celsius. Because of its big and beautiful dense buds, AK-47 is prone to bud rot. So you will want to monitor this indoors, and conversely, this makes it a challenge trying to grow it outdoors. Also, in order to get those big sexy buds, you have to feed this plant. AK-47 requires a lot of feeding during flowering. You will want to keep your phosphorus levels high while you monitor bud development. This will give you enough time to flush your plants prior to harvest.
Soil or Medium
You will want to use an organic soil or hydroponic mediums to the get the best result when growing indoors. The Seed Pharm recommends using the Sea of Green (SOG) method with this strain. You will create an even canopy by pruning and topping your AK plants, and at the same time training them through trellising. Remember that AK-47 is known for its pungent aroma, so have a good air filtration system and keep an eye on it so it runs effectively. As a result, if you’re growing “under the radar’, this may be a difficult strain to pull off. Or at least take the necessary precautions, so you wont draw attention to your grow.
