About Purple Haze
Few photoperiod hybrids announce themselves the way this one does. From early in the grow the plants throw off a fresh blueberry scent, and that carries straight through to the cured flower. Purple Haze is a cross of Purple Thai and Haze, running 70% Sativa to 30% Indica, with THC around 17% and up to 20% in a well-dialled room. CBD sits low.
The smoke is thick and smooth without losing its edge, fruity and distinct on the exhale. Buds finish deep purple with a noticeable sheen.
The high builds gradually rather than slamming down, arriving as a cerebral, energetic buzz that lifts the mood and holds for roughly four to five hours. Many growers report it keeps them social, talkative and creative, and useful for daytime work rather than couch time. There is none of the sedation a pure Indica delivers. Go slow and low; pushed too far it can tip toward anxiety.
Growing Purple Haze Feminized Seeds
These are photoperiod feminized seeds, which means you decide when the plant flowers. Keep it under 18 hours of light for as long as you want structure and size, then drop to 12/12 to trigger bloom. That single decision is the difference between a modest single-plant grow and a bench-filling one, and it is the main reason growers choose the feminized version over an auto.
The long veg window is where the real return sits. Purple Haze takes training well: top it early, tie the branches out with LST, or run it through a SCROG net to spread the Sativa stretch across an even canopy instead of losing it to one dominant cola. Gentle training is enough to keep overall height in check.
It is an easy plant once established and genuinely beginner-friendly, but watch the first few weeks. Root rot is the main killer here, so stay on top of temperature and humidity while the root mass is small. Keep pH between 6.0 and 7.0 and most problems never appear. Rich soil works fine; hydroponics pushes it hardest if you have the gear and the experience.
What to Expect
- Flowering: 8 to 9 weeks after the flip, plus however long you veg
- Height: medium, roughly 80 cm, which suits a cabinet or single-plant canopy
- Indoor yield: up to 500 g/m², rising to 550 g/m² in a well-run hydro setup
- Outdoor yield: about 400 g per plant in good weather
- Difficulty: easy, with early-stage humidity control the one thing to get right
